2016 Den building update

A whirlwind of reviews, competitions and invitations - welcome 2016! Our book is now available on Amazon, Crown and in numerous Waterstones stores.

Irresistible, sumptuous, winsome and wow! Just some of the words that pop to mind as you casually flick through this enticing [there's another one!] photo-illustrated book all about den building. If you do not want to go away and create a den of your very own after reading this gem of an A5-sized portable pocket book, I will eat my hat, as they say! This book is just about perfect for everyone - it has accessible, minimal text, along with quality ideas that have been tried and tested and are not expensive or requiring mountains of resources … dip in … get ideas … be inspired to come up with your own ... enjoy creating a special place. I know it is a little early for this, and forgive me if I recommend more in the course of the year, but it has to be my 'must have book of 2016'!

It's almost completed!

Well it may have taken us nearly two years. It may have changed direction. It may have have a couple of (Ok several)  extended deadlines BUT it is now almost ready!! Our Den book is finally at the stage where it can be pre ordered on Amazon

Thank you to everyone who has helped us by loaning us their children and their houses. To all at Crown for being so inspirational and patient. It's being set out by the wonderful Tom at the moment and we can't wait to see the final result.

A Level students

Design lead devising with A level students yesterday. Using den building materials as their starting points - amazing -  Total goosebumps!! A couple of photos  to give you an idea - could have stayed all week - we will be back - Thank you Dan Meigh and your students. Videos are being uploaded but huge files!

Journey through a den

Cathy and I spent last week working in a special school - den building, model making, bubble blowing - to name but a few activities. This is an unedited clip of a 'walk through' of the final dens. More photos to follow.

Making a volcano from a duvet

We turned a very cheap duvet into a volcano to use within a den - Gav kindly set up a time lapse for us.
